Real Talk

So many smart and hardworking leaders get stuck and struggle to be effective at senior levels – even if they’ve been successful previously.

You’re determined to succeed though, so you DOUBLE DOWN on what got you where you are today – hard work, diligence and going the extra mile.

But it doesn’t work quite as it did before.

Without realizing it, unhelpful behaviours kick into over drive – perfectionism, over-delivering, over-thinking, struggling to let go of set-backs and doubting yourself at critical moments.

Sound familiar?

And all the while, you can’t quite shake the uncomfortable feeling that perhaps your best isn’t quite good enough. At any moment you could be revealed as incompetent. Do you really deserve to be in this position?

As a Coach, I’ve seen this scenario play out all too frequently …

Of course the details are different for everyone, but the common theme is that you’re leaning into the WRONG THING. You’re focused on increasing your competence, when what you really need is greater confidence.

You’re getting in your own way, and you don’t even realise it.

Or if you do realise it, you’re at a loss at what to do differently – so you just keep ploughing on, doing what you’ve always done.

My lifework is to shine a light on the REAL beliefs, behaviours and habits that are holding you back and help you get out of your own way.

If you feel frustrated, tired, overlooked or that the best version of you hasn’t quite shown up yet, then you’re in the right place.

Make yourself comfy and lets talk.

How to finally become an exceptional leader – even if you’ve tried everything.

The Confident Leader Blueprint

01.

Start with the Direction.

The definition of ‘success’ is different for everyone.

In this first step, you’ll get clear on your definition of success – where you want your leadership career to go, what you want to be known for and how you want to show up as a leader. This’ll give you clarity on what you’re shooting for, guide your development choices and ensure you’re making progress towards what’s most important to you.

02.

Take an Audit.

Next, you’ll do an honest audit of where you’re currently at.

You’ll identify the strengths you can leverage and where the gaps are. And we’ll also uncover the limiting beliefs, behaviours and habits that are holding you back, so you can tackle them and stop the negative talk and internal battles once and for all.

03.

Execute Your Game Plan.

And finally, you’ll develop a game plan that’s both impactful and sustainable. And you’ll identify your tribe who’ll help, guide and support you along the way. Then, you’ll get to work and execute your plan. And before you know it, you’ll be the exceptional leader you dream of being.

Ready to get started? You’ve got this! And I’ve got you.

MY PRINCIPLES

The Truths That Underpin My Work

01.

Potential to Learn: Great leaders are made not born. Everyone can learn to be an exceptional leader if they’re prepared to put the work in.

02.

Diversity: Not every leader needs to be a bold, larger than life extrovert. Some of the greatest leaders are quiet, considered introverts. We need both types.

03.

Authenticity: Don’t pretend to be something you’re not – be true to yourself as you grow as a leader. And don’t hide behind ‘authenticity’ as an excuse to stay stuck with habits that don’t serve you.

04.

Rigour: I seek out evidence based approaches – the methodologies, tools and techniques I use are underpinned by research and data.

05.

Care (a lot): Growing as a leader takes courage. It’s an honor to go on this journey with you, and I care (a lot) about your success.

Have baggage? Me too!

As an introvert and recovering perfectionist, what I share with you is a blend of my personal experiences and professional expertise. I’m here to share my learnings so you can skip the hard yards, avoid the pain and get to the results faster.

I also want to normalise the things you struggle with.

When I call out your perfectionism, over-thinking or reluctance to back yourself, it’s not to shame you or make you feel bad about yourself.

It’s to draw your attention to how you’re leaning into things that aren’t helping you. And to challenge your thinking that perhaps there’s another, more effective, way.

This is what drives me to work with leaders, just like you – to help you get out of your own way. If you’re ready to get started, it would be a privilege to work with YOU next …

A Few Fun Facts …

A few fun facts vii scaled
A few fun facts

My favourite drink is Gin & Tonic. Not in one of those ridiculous goldfish bowl glasses though. I always feel so silly trying to drink from them. I like mine in a glass that I can hold in one hand…

I’m a Dual National. Which is a fancy way of saying I have both a British and Australian passport. I’m British born but I lived in Australia for so long, they eventually gave in and made me a citizen. I’m now back in the UK living in the beautiful English countryside.

The person I most want to meet is Emma Thompson. She’s super smart, talented, a little bit bonkers and oh so brilliantly funny. She never fails to make me laugh and reminds me not to take it all too seriously.

I have a black belt in karate. This was the peak of my sporting prowess at aged 14 and it’s been somewhat downhill from there – on the fitness front that is!

What’s With the Name?

In case you’re wondering, the name Amelior Partners comes from the word ameliorate.

It means ‘to make or become better’.

And yes, I did spend an entire afternoon with a thesaurus looking for the right word!
